There will be a lot of changes happening in my life soon and I don’t know if I’m ready for it…but whatever will happen will happen right. I just have to be strong for it.

Bio Wordle

So! I discovered this cool new website, Wordle where you can make word clouds! Awesome, right? So me being me, first thing I tried was to create a bio word cloud

Haha yeah, basically I inserted any random biology words that came to my mind, but those are pretty general in my opinion.

Anyway, met with my U.R.O.P.S. prof just now and he gave us lots of advice. Was originally supposed to do the field work at Changi Beach but can’t because of the oil spill, so will probably do it at Pasir Ris Park….Will have to do lots and lots of readings from now on cuz he wants a thorough lit review. Problem is, there are not many research done on Echinoderms of Singapore so yeah….will try my best.

Oh yeah, and another thing…will be going back to Indo from 1 June to 1 August! Can’t wait to be back home!!!

Hi there *shifty eyes*

Yes yes, I know I have not been updating for a bazillion years even though I’m technically free now since exams ended about two weeks ago…but yeah, I haven’t have the slightest clue about what I should write here?

Anyway, I’m still in Singapore now since I need to prepare for my next semester’s research project. It’s going to be on marine biology Oh and I’ll only be going back to Indo on 1st of June.

Been spending my time lazing about in my room, drawing (a lot! I wish I have a good camera so that I can put up pictures here) and reading ( 5 books in these two weeks! Man, I’m on a roll ;P). Also, went to watched Iron Man 2 with Charmaine on Saturday. It was not as good as the first on but still decent. RDJ is still hot and Scarlett was amazing. Oh, and I want Tony’s phone

Okay, then. Will try to post more regularly during the holidays (not a promise though XD)

Anyways, I’ve been missing home mighty big lately and so was really really happy when my dad sent me these photos he took:

I saw this e-mail when I was in class and spent several minutes totally squealing (silently of course) and showing the photo to everyone. God, I miss my dog so much <3 <3<3

Today is my mom’s birthday. What can I say about her? She is probably the most important person in my life. I have learned so much from her it is impossible to list it all. We’ve argued often, of course, especially when I was younger but nowadays arguments are rare. She is one of the few people who truly gets me and never judged me at all. She have many weaknesses and strength. She has done many extraordinary things in her life and many mistakes too. She is not perfect but she is my mom. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Guess what I did today!

Yup! I went to watch Alice in Wonderland (3D) since it came out today in Singapore and it’s my no-lab week! It’s really really really awesome I’m telling you. Totally live up to the hype. The 3D effect is gorgeous and didn’t leave me dizzy like Avatar did (FYI, in my humble opinion, this movie is better than Avatar. However, they each have their own charm).

I’m honestly surprised about how much I love this Alice movie because well, I (used to) have….an aversion to Alice. Mainly because of this person:

Yup, Disney’s animated Queen of Heart. So the story is, when I was a kid (probably around 6 or 7) my mom bought the laser disc (remember those?) for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. I watched and to put it gently, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The Queen of Heart was a horrid horrid woman I’m telling you. She keep on screaming and ill-treating all those people. She just won’t stop. And then there is the nasty flowers, the confusing blue caterpillar and the mean evil walrus. Plus that end scene where everyone is chasing Alice and shouting for her to be captured. So yeah… I didn’t like it and begged my mom to never make me watch that ever again. Trust Tim Burton to turn something I hate to something I love haha. Well, actually if I hadn’t watched that movie as a kid I might not dislike Alice. After all, the book is part of a genre I love (quirky, weird, fantasy world with scientific allegories? Sign me up!)

So, after watching the movie, I became very curious about the book and wanted to read it so I went to Page One. I ended up with this haul:

by Toni DiTerlizzi and Holly Black

I’ve been wanting this book for so long! What is there not to love about it? The illustrations are lovely and it is an encyclopedia of faerie! (I’m currently looking for Faeries by Brian Froud, hopefully it is still in print!)

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories by Tim Burton

I’ve said this before and I will say this again. I love Tim Burton.

Now, you are probably wondering why I brought two copies of Alice. The second book is actually a print of the original manuscript written and illustrated by Lewis Carroll himself to be given to Alice Pleasance Liddell, the girl who was the inspiration for Alice. Amazing isn’t it? It possess such a precious charm that I couldn’t resist buying it haha.

Okay, so I went on a shopping spree yesterday and surprisingly I bought make-up! Anyone who knows me know that I don’t wear make up However, lately I’ve been hearing a lot about you know, how as a girl I should know the basics of wearing make-up and I think this is kinda true. I don’t think it is about being a girl, I think it is about making yourself presentable. So I tried it out and it turns out to be quite fun! I think I will have much fun experimenting with it

These are all from the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes collection. I mostly bought neutral and beige-y colours because I think those are easier to mix and match and I prefer my make up to be natural looking anyway. However, I’m also tempted to try some colours (blue maybe) for my eye-shadow. Haha, but not now, probable in 3 months or so. I just want to get the hang of the basics first!
