Archive for December, 2009

Thank you for the memories, 2009

Huh, it’s the end of the year again. This is really cliche but time pass by so fast doesn’t it? 2009… was not an easy year, to say the least. Near nervous breakdown, results, stress. That’s not to say I didn’t have any fun this year 🙂 New friends, new experiences, and learn a lot of new things too!

Okay, here’s listing memorable (both bad and good, in no particular order) from 2009:

  • Para-sailing on 20th birthday!
  • New friends that I really really treasure (you know who you are *hugs*)
  • Learn Japanese (and still continuing)
  • Got an iPod Touch ;P
  • Started to get into fashion and stuff
  • Near nervous breakdown during camp prep and exams (worst time of the year)
  • Didn’t draw much this year so I’m hoping to pick up again next year
  • Forensics class (fun)
  • Received another batch of letters from my beloved students in Yunnan in June

There are much much more but those are the things I could think of right now. I think, for me, 2009 was a year of learning. I learn to let go, to keep my distance, to try new things and meet new people. Cried a lot this year, laughed a lot too, so there’s a balance haha. One of the most important thing I’ve learned in 2009 is, I think, to let go. Made the conscious choice to not be involved in any CCA activities and focus more on my studies. It was a sacrifice that I did not regret making. I think I was really tired physically and mentally from all of those activity that I really feel the need to cleanse myself…..but suffice to say, I think I’ve learned a lot this year and I am very glad and grateful for that

Okay, resolutions! I don’t always follow them (hehe…) but I think it set the tone for the year, so I always love making them:

  • Lose weight!!!! I’ve gained weight during the holidays gah! But yes, I really do want to slim down, it opens up so much more options!
  • Take better care of my body
  • Develop my sense of style (haha)
  • Study/ be more hard-working/score really well in exams
  • Continue learning Japanese
  • Hopefully start learning Russian through Livemocha
  • Read more books
  • Draw, maybe even try using new mediums
  • Learn to master photography
  • Be a better friend/keep in touch with my friends
  • Be content with myself a.k.a just let myself be ME 😀
  • Most importantly, love God with my whole heart and always let Him guide me wherever He wants me to go

To everyone, these moments we’ve shared have been wonderful…[Okay, there are fireworks outside my house now (so pretty…) and it is distracting me so I don’t know how to continue haha]. Thanks for visiting this humble blog, I’m very happy (and puzzled) to see that people are indeed reading this. Thank you and may you be blessed always. To my friends, you are the best! *hugs* Here’s to the wonderful years ahead of us 😀

I think 2010 will be a great year 🙂 So cheers and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2:29

Yup, not asleep yet. My sleep cycle is non-existant.

Went for a meet up with the rest of the family. Apparently we are going to have a family gathering at Pelabuhan Ratu on 2nd Jan. Hopefully it will be fun (I honestly don’t know what to expect) but definitely bringing my iPod Touch (I can’t live without it now….gah, why can’t my dorm room have wifi?! Hmph)

I am crazily thinking of getting a Twitter……I have always thought of it as the ultimate exercise in narcissism, I mean, do you really think people want to know about what you are thinking right now? ‘the coffee taste nice’ O_0 But then again…I don’t know, if I have a twitter I’ll just keep it private (aka not telling anyone the username and not link it anywhere, not even here) and I don’t think I’ll ‘friend’ anyone, I mean, I don’t think any of my close friends tweet (pretty ironic goal for a social networking site).

The reason why I want to get it cuz I think it can be fun. I mean, I get a lot of random thoughts popping by in my head, so I thought it would be fun to record it down. I honestly don’t care if people read it or not, it is not meant to be read by anyone but me anyway. I’ll probably get it on a whim, just like my tumblr account (which I love, it’s my online scrapbook for gorgeous photos). One deciding factor will be the right app (shows how dependent I am on my iPod Touch), didn’t realise there are so many apps. And you have to pay for some (a lot) of them! No way, I’m getting a free one. I just want to jot down random thoughts, is that so hard? I don’t care about those ‘replies’ ,’followers’ or whatever other nonsense they have.

Hmph…who knows. Like I’ve said, if I do get it, it will be on a whim. Not now, if I do it now, knowing me, I’ll just post once a month or something like that

Wow, this is longer than I originally intended. One more song and then I’ll go to sleep. Dad is cooking turkey for tomorrow! Can’t wait 😀

Merry Christmas Everyone!

It’s Christmas! Happy Christmas! I love you!

To everyone out there, may this Christmas be a joyous and wonderful one. To all my friends who are reading this, I ❤ you and thanks for being in my life. To passing strangers, you are loved 🙂

Yay, it’s Christmas!

Daily report

Hi!

Wow, I really haven’t blog for quite some time huh? Mainly it is because I don’t really know what to say. I’ve been feeling restless lately, especially with my hair. I feel like I’m constantly having bad hair days! I wanna try to go for the hair smoothing process, I’m sick of my hair being uncontrollable! I’ll probably go do it tomorrow or Wednesday, hopefully it turns out well!

Last friday was holiday here in Indo so went out with the family for some shopping haha. Went to Sushi Tei for lunch and then me and nana went off to do our own shopping. I bought a bag, a cardigan and a scarf. Didn’t buy clothes cuz I didn’t see anything that I liked. Will probably take pictures later and update this post.

Oh yeah, we went to see Avatar on saturday. Well…one thing you should know about that show is that you shouldn’t watch that movie for the plot (which is super generic), you watch that movie for the special effects (which were really awesome by the way even though at some points it looks as if the director was high on LSD during filming)

Don’t know why I’m feeling this restless…probably sign that shark week is coming soon (at least I hope this is the reason). Anyway, I still feel like doing some shopping so I’ll probably drag my sister to the mall soon 😀

P.S. Haha, you know Manda, originally I was planning to leave P&P&Z here but since you wanted to borrow it I’ll bring it back ^^

Blah blah blah

Just got back from church, at a cafe now eating breakfast with mom. Nana is having a church committee meeting and dad have year-end meeting so he couldn’t join us today.

Went to watch Planet 51 with my sister yesterday, it was okay. The normal animation stuff. The plot is quite generic but some parts are really quite funny. Overall, it’s about 3.5 out of 5. Saw the Avatar movie trailer again, can’t wait for it to come out! 😀

I’m not really following my to-read list. I’m now rereading my YA (young adults; I always think this is a ridiculous label) books like Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead ( which is way better than the ridiculous twilight series) and Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. The good thing about these books is that it is so easy to read! I can finish about two books in one day 😉

Okay, food is here. Have a good day! 😀

Books

Finished reading Temple by Matthew Reilly! Been waiting so long to read it, one of the reason I can’t wait to come back home haha. Still reading Area 7 now by the same author.

Okay, here’s a list of books I’m planning to read during this holiday:
Library of the Dead
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Pride and predjudice and zombies
The Death Maze
Nefertiti

That’s all so far. Not that many, and quite a few of them are re-reads. I like to re-read the books I’ve read ( I’ve probably read Temple thrice now), unlike some people I know. Which is why I prefer buying books rather than borrowing them from the library.

I’m so happy that I finally have the time to read again. I truly love reading books 😀

I’m home!

Yay, I’m finally back home with my family 😀 My sister is having exam now so she’s kinda busy. Everything is as normal, which is good. Went with mom and nana today to the new mall near our house. The Japanese food there is really good and we ate at ice cream at gelare. The purpose we went there is to buy groceries though, cuz mom’s cooking sukiyaki tomorrow…my favourite ;D

Typing this on my iPod touch. Finally downloaded the wordpress app. Not bad 🙂 I should be upgrading my software to OS 3 soon. Can’t decide when to do it. Ah well, probably within this week.

Going swimming tomorrow 🙂

Aftermath

So, exam’s over and my phone magically fixed itself. Life is good haha! Went shopping on tuesday with Char but didn’t buy much cuz there wasn’t any interesting items. But I bought books though, finished one already and currently reading ‘The Book of the Dead’ by Patricia Cornwell. Not bad, quite intriguing. 2012 was not bad. Awesome special effects.

Went out with Manda today, watched ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’. Quite cool and funny in a quirky way. Bought more books, seems like I’m going on a book spree! I bought ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. So awesome, can’t wait to read it haha. Along that note, I can’t wait to watch Zombieland.

I’ll probably dragged my sister to watch with me. Gah, so many movies I want to watch. Daybreakers, The Legion, Avatar (saw the trailer during 2012, awesome awesome awesome….and possibly Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 (Love them since I was a kid. Especially now that the Chippetes are featured in this movie). Sounds like it’s gonna be a fun holiday!

P.S: I am so happy that I don’t have to tag my entry with anything related to ‘exams’ anymore. Booyeah!
